History
The band was set up in 1990 by a small group of woodwind players, and was known in those days as No Strings Attached!. A bass and several brass players joined, and the band grew steadily, outgrowing the small cookery room at the Adult Education Centre where they held their rehearsals. A more suitable venue for the practices was found at St Edburgs Church Hall and the band also changed its name to Bicester Concert Band.

Christmas
At Christmas we usually join with the Bicester Choral Society for our last concert of the year and to many of us what feels like the real start to Christmas. The concert in St Egburg’s Church has become somewhat of a favourite with a mixture of Carols, Concert Pieces and readings.
This year we’ll be playing our concert in December. This year we are planning our concert for the 8th December.
Hot Summer Days in the Park
There’s nothing quite like listening to a band in a park and whether you stay for just a single tune or the whole performance we’re sure its a perfect way to lie back, relax and enjoy the music.
This year we’ll be playing in the Garth Park during the summer. Why not come along on July 8th?
Remembrance Day in Thame
Supporting the Remembrance Service is one of our shorter performances but with a mixture of music from Hymns to the solemn tunes of Debussy this is another important date in our diary.
Christmas Lights
As the lights go on we join with rest of the town to celebrate the start of the Christmas festival.
Carols in the Street
A busy time of year Christmas! You’ll usually find us playing on a Saturday near to Christmas in the street with a variety of Carols and festive tunes.
Throughout the rest of the year we play for a variety of events depending upon events and demands. In the past these have included items such as Weddings, Church Festivals and Local Group events.
